Staying in for a low-key quiet dining experience to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year? Then dressing up the dining table with an extra element of special is a must! This is the second of a special two-part post featuring a table set with love, two ways. The first look in A Table Set With Love ~ Part One uses the same basic layout with different accent shades in cool mauves and charcoal. This second look adds warmer shades and references the classic heart motif.

For the colour scheme, inspiration is taken from the deep coral and peach table linens laid below the dinner plates. Matching floral printed paper coasters are set beneath the wine glasses. Roses are so typical of the holiday, so to try something different a few carnations in shades of red and pink are used (also much more economical!).  Again, the rest of the palette is kept to a chic warm white including the other table linens and dishes. A collection of candles is lit on the both the dining and side table for a romantic touch.

My favourite part of this table set with love: A love note with a sentimental message in lieu of a place card, centred on each plate. Whether you’re dining with your special someone, with family or with friends this little Valentine’s Day touch is sure to set the mood! Lastly, the plan is to hide these gold folded notes in various shades of pink around the home with messages of sweet nothings. This is a pretty way to continue with the unexpected and to make the fun last whole the weekend.

Of course, the focus of the holiday is about who you share it with.   You can see beautiful and fairly simple looks can be created with a few themed accents. A little table styling is enough to create a pleasant ambience. Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day dining experience!
