Today is a day when we celebrate love and the loved ones in our lives.  When thinking about love and how to show it, I have a little fascination with love locks.  A favourite example is the Pont des Arts footbridge in Paris, the Lovers’ Bridge.  To imagine couples from all over the world declaring their endless love in the same very spot is pretty powerful.

Love lock.  A lock which sweethearts fasten somewhere as a symbol of their lasting love. In a romantic gesture the lovers close the lock and throw away the key.  Two sets of initials are hand decorated on the lock to mark their love for all to see.

A tradition dating back over a hundred years has found a new outlet in the Distillery District in Toronto, Canada.  Sweethearts can fasten their love locks to the showy LOVE installation as a token of their adoration.  #DistilleryLove, so sweet.
