About this time last year I hosted a cute baby shower for my sister.  The theme had to be gender neutral and with the snowy weather: BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE was perfect!

A graphic colour scheme of black and winter white was carried through the invitation, décor pieces, and even into the refreshments and light snacks served.  The monochromatic look took form through chalkboard signs on the walls, graphic print napkins and straws on the table, and paper bunting banners and circle garlands hanging around the rooms.  All-white refreshments ranging from Sauvignon Blanc, sparkling water to white tea were served to the guests who dropped by the open house.  Winter white nibblies were also offered including delicate vanilla bean mini cupcakes, flavoured popcorn and mini marshmallow squares.  Just a few pops of colours were included in the candle arrangements using bright baby toys.  My sister took these toys with her after the party, and my little niece has since enjoyed these playful elements.

The day of the bash, the BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE party atmosphere came complete with extreme cold temperatures and a snow storm to match!  Welcoming guests into the cozy indoor setting was a nice way to celebrate and welcome the new little one on the way.
